About Kristy

As the owner of a CrossFit gym, she keeps herself active, fit, and strong by training regularly. Kristy is a mum to two young children and along with a dog and pet fish is kept very busy.

Clinical Experience

Kristy’s journey into healthcare began while she was an athlete practising Taekwondo (martial arts). Her peers often asked her for a massage to soothe their sore or injured muscles during training and competitions. The positive feedback she received from her massages and her interest in the human body motivated her to pursue formal qualifications in massage.

After becoming a certified remedial massage therapist in 2003 she worked in this field whilst travelling and competing in Taekwondo tournaments as an elite athlete, at a national and international level.

A thirst for knowledge led her to return to further study in Myotherapy at RMIT, graduating in 2010.

Kristy has worked in the health industry for 19 years and has a strong interest in movement, mobility, corrective exercise, and neuroscience. She recognizes that movement differences and the fascial system can contribute to imbalances in the body, resulting in musculoskeletal pain and dysfunction.

She enjoys learning about the human body and especially the brain and has a particular interest in behavioural neuroscience and pain science

With extensive experience in myotherapy, she has worked at sports clubs, and multidisciplinary clinics, and owned her own private practice. As an elite athlete, she has used her expertise in myotherapy to provide services to other athletes at VIS, AIS, and various sporting clubs and events.
